The classic comedy team of Laurel and Hardy are no taller than doorknobs or sinks. A bed is armpit high to them. They need a step stool to get into a gigantic tub. Are they shrunk to 3 feet tall? No...well, at least in illusion they are. In this 1930 comedy (colorized here), they play their own sons. Special effects--large props and sets--give the illusion. Yes we know they're supposed to be kids but can imagine them as very tiny grownups.
