Downsizing review and pic

Out Dec 22 in US. Supposedly about 7-10 min of giant-tiny interaction overall but there are scenes when they're in the miniaturized city for awhile, it's said

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Do you know if there will be interactions between shrunken people and normal sized boys?

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Someone who saw the movie as a preview (it's out in 2 months) said there's little interaction  between tinies and giants..some, yes, but not the whole movie. Don't know if there's such interaction but who knows...judging from clips all the people in it are probably adults but who's to say

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Unfortunately I think so too, but like you say, who knows, probably one of the giants has a son, it is unlikely, but at least it's a hope, I guess we have to wait to discover it http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/confused.png

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Sounds like one of those movies where they take an interesting premise and cop-out from utilizing it.  Sort of like when someone does a time travel story, but the subject comes from the future to the present so the film makers don't have to create futuristic sets or costumes - Sci-fi set in the real world with almost no attention to the "sci-fi."

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Someone who has already seen it, are there interactions between the tiny people and boys?

Re: Downsizing review and pic

No, not at all (interaction w giant boys).

Disappointing..be aware most giant tiny interaction is at the start..no handhelds or anything. It mostly concerns the people shrunk to 5" tall in Leisureland.Matt Damon's character is one but his wife played by Kirsten Wiig gets cold feet and does not shrink.Ultimately it deals with depressing concept of human extinction. You've already seen some special effects in previews like using a spatula to pick up the tinies.I paid $5.95 bargain matinee and am glad I didn't pay more.

Lot of people on Rotten Tomatoes talking about how bad Downsizing was; people walked out or talked about how it was maybe good for a half hour. Would agree. (Also it's been said the scene of the giant vodka bottle was in trailer only, not movie. True.)> One review on RT read: "The construct of shrinking humans is only clever visually if they are placed in contrast with the large human world around them. Moving everyone who has been shrunk to a tiny city with other tiny people loses the entire conceit. What's the point? Other than that, it was an unfunny screed about global warming littered with ridiculous characters doing painfully boring things. I wish the run time and cost of my movie tickets had been downsized. Do not see this movie!"

Re: Downsizing review and pic

Thank you for the information. Now I know I won't see this movie. With this one, we have to disappointed movies: Ant-Man and Downsized where none of them have interactions with giant boys. I do hope the upcoming shrinking/giants movies have this requirements.
